Cure For Tics In Children

Cure for Tics in Children

Everyone is well versed with the Tics problem if they have a kid at their place but let me explain the same in a short and precise way. They are basically the unintentional sounds or continuous movements of the body which happens without knowing about the same. A person doing it has no intention of doing it purposely. It happens intentionally. They are mostly found with kids less than 18 years of age. Thus cure for tics in children has become the topic of concern for every parent. Just because sometimes it is very embarrassing children try to control it which can be dangerous.

Kids are prone to tics at a faster rate as compared to an adult. That’s because their resistance power may be less. The simplest example of tic is coughing. Imagine your kid has taken part in some poetry competition and in the middle of the show he feels like coughing but just because he doesn’t wish to break the repo he would try to suppress the same thinking that he would cough when he is done with his poetry. But it should never be done that way, the more you suppress it, the louder it would be.

The basic step for curing tics in children would be to tell them that they can freely express the same when they are at home. Even they would be more comfortable to do so with their family members as compared to the outside surrounding. Tics in children are very common in school as they tend to spread faster. That is why every school should teach them the basic thing of how to behave when they are in school with tics.

Basic symptoms of Tics

Basically there are two types of Tics:

1. Simple Tics

Simple tic simply means that the movement which is involved is just single for instance blinking of eyes, smelling an object, jumping etc. It can also be supported with sounds like making sound while inhaling or while clearing your throat. Thus these are the tics which are commonly found in mostly every kid and they are also called the facial tics.

2. Complex Tics

They are basically tics which involves several movements for example folding your hands while walking, twisting your body etc. it also includes repeating certain words again and again while talking at regular intervals. Complex tics are very difficult to deal with. For example a student may tend to move his feet every time he writes or reacts to the same word or letter. This can affect his performance as well his career.

They can be further divided into Motor Tics and Vocal Tics

Motor Tics

Motor tics are nothing but tics that involve movements. It just involves one muscle group while doing the task. The best examples are lip biting or touching any object again and again, kicking something.

Vocal Tics

Just as the name says Vocal Tics are tics that have sound in it for instance sniffing, coughing, barking etc. Vocal tics do not occur as frequent as motor tics. Sometimes it can be so irritating that you might feel that a person is doing the same purposely.

Curing the tic in children is not that difficult. It can be easily treated with proper diagnosis and love. If you can explain the worst part of the tic to your kid they can easily let it go. As per doctors advice you can get rid of any tic within three months. Sometimes if the tic is very severe then it can also be there say for a year.
